Bob L. Lanter 70 Oblong, Illinois died Thursday February 8, 2001 at Good Samaritan

Hospital in Vincennes, Indiana. Bob was born June 7, 1930 in Robinson, Illinois and

was the son of Leonard & Marie (Armitage) Lanter. On June 23, 1951 he married

Wanda Parker.

Bob retired in 1994 after 34 years as Superintendent of the Village of Oblong.

He was an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member

of Oblong First Christian Church and was affiliated with Central United Methodist

Church of Oblong. Bob was a member of Oblong American Legion Post #219,

Robinson Moose Lodge #1169, Charter Member of the Cold Foot Campers Club

Oblong and member of the Oblong Volunteer Fire Department for over 40 years.

He was an avid gardener and enjoyed sharing his garden with the community.

Bob is survived by his wife Wanda; Son & Daughter-In-Law Gary & Gwenda Lanter;

Grandson Braden Lanter and Mother-In-Law Clara Shacklee. Bob had many friends

that were just like family to him. He is preceded in death by his Parents

and 1 infant brother Billie Lanter. Burial will be in

Oblong Cemetery with Military Rites by Oblong American Legion Post #219.
